Porsche of Melbourne Teams with Derek Bell, MBE

Melbourne, FL Feb. 01, 2008 -Shay Rowe, Porsche of Melbourne owner, hosted a reception Jan 19th to announce that his dealership has teamed up with famed Porsche racer Derek Bell. As many of you know, Bell's career includes FIVE 1st-place wins at Le Mans ( 1975, 1981, 1982, 1986, 1987), two World Sports Car Championship titles (1985, 1986), and three victories in our own 24 Hours of Daytona (1986, 1987, 1989). Although Bell has raced other makes, his greatest successes have come at the wheel of Porsche 936, 956, and 962 models, often paired with Jacky Ickx. For his extraordinary success, Bell was awarded the MBE in 1986 for his services in motorsports. More recently, Bell has served as a commentator on Formula One and as a competitor in a number of historic races. Bell will assist Rowe in promoting the dealership and will make frequent appearances at Porsche club events, including the 24 Hours and Daytona and the upcoming Sunrise to Sunset Rally.
